SUMMER FOODS TO BOOST IMMUNITY

Summer time is the time when your body is most dehydrated which is not right. One should keep their body hydrated and should eat right foods or drink right beverages to gain immunity.

If one wants to keep their body immune avoid drinking aerated drinks as it is mostly carbonated water and it contains high sugar content. You can opt for fruit juices, buttermilk, lemon water etc.

There are many healthy options available in the market to keep yourself hydrated on a hot summer day.

There are certain seasonal foods to keep your body immune:

WATERMELON

Watermelon contains good amount water therefore they are hydrating and are light on stomach and is very nutrient rich and helps in boosting one’s immunity.

Watermelon contains less calories and are beneficial for weight loss.

CURD

Curd provides a cooling effect to the body and most of the people love curd. Curd is perfect for summer as it is a cooling food. Curd contains Vit D in abundance which helps in keeping our immune system healthy.

The best way to consume curd is in the form of buttermilk as it provides cooling effect to the body and helps in keeping our body hydrated.

MANGOES

Mangoes are everyone’s favourite and are non-resistant. Mangoes are the one summer fruits that everyone loves it. People eat mangoes in different forms like kulfi, mango shake etc.

Mangoes contain Vit A which is very essential for a healthy immune system. They are very good for boosting one’s immunity.

MINT

Mint is very refreshing and vivifies every person. Mint is also one of the herb and is rich in anti-oxidants and contains anti-inflammatory properties which helps in keeping harmful radicals away from the immune system.

Add mint in your daily routine like in your smoothies, pudina chutney or else use it for garnishing.

LEMONS

Lemons are rich in VitC which is beneficial for our body and is very essential to consume by every human being.

Vit C helps in boosting our immunity and lemon can be consumed in various forms like lemon water, sprinkling lemon juice on salads, add lemon juice in green tea or in preparation in certain mocktails.

TRAGACANTH GUM

Tragacanth gum is a natural gum consisting of the hardening sap of two species.

It is locally known as ‘gondh-katira’.
